{"id":1889,"date":"2024-12-05T23:14:55","date_gmt":"2024-12-05T23:14:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cudrr.org\/?p=1889"},"modified":"2025-06-19T08:08:55","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T08:08:55","slug":"the-new-handbook-for-local-government-leaders-how-to-make-cities-more-resilient","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cudrr.org\/?p=1889","title":{"rendered":"The New Handbook for Local Government Leaders: How to Make Cities More Resilient"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) 2015-2030, CUDRR+R was tasked by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) with updating the quintessential&nbsp;<em>Making Cities Resilient Campaign<\/em>&nbsp;Publication, How to Make Cities More Resilient: A Handbook for Local Government Leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Handbook, written primarily for the local government leaders and policy makers, was developed over a year, presents how-to use the New Ten Essentials, showcasing examples of disaster risk reduction and resilience building practices from Campaign cities, and the Cycle of Resilience Building.
