{"id":2232,"date":"2026-03-10T13:52:38","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T13:52:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cudrr.org\/?p=2232"},"modified":"2026-03-10T13:58:56","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T13:58:56","slug":"ebru-gencer-attends-optimizing-governance-mechanisms-for-resilient-recovery-webinar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cudrr.org\/?p=2232","title":{"rendered":"Ebru Gencer Attends \u2018Optimizing Governance Mechanisms for Resilient Recovery\u2019\u00a0Webinar"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Last May, our founding executive director Ebru Gencer attended the webinar \u2018Pacing the Way: Optimizing Governance Mechanisms for Resilient Recovery\u2019 in preparation to the World Conference on Resilient Recovery (#WCRR) that took place during the preparatory days of the Global Platform (GP) in Geneva in June 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This webinar examined the instrumental role in strengthening governance systems for effective and inclusive disaster recovery &#8212; when governance structures are prepared in advance with clear mandates, strong institutional frameworks, and well-coordinated leadership, they enable faster, more effective recovery while reducing long-term vulnerabilities. The webinar session highlighted key governance challenges and opportunities, focusing on how readiness can drive better coordination, resource allocation, and decision-making in post-disaster contexts. This session explored the role of governance systems in recovery, highlighting how pre-established institutional frameworks, policy arrangements, coordination mechanisms and stakeholder engagement contribute to effectively manage recovery efforts, including from complex crisis.
