A Participatory Decision-Making Approach Towards Climate-Resilient and Inclusive Urban Development in Latin America

CUDRR+R, along with partner organizations IIED-Latin America (IIED-LA) and Environmental Research (Alterra), has won a Climate Resilient Cities in Latin America research grant from a call issued by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), Canada’s International Development Research Center (IDRC), and Fundacion Futuro Latinoamericano (FFLA-Ecuador).

The winning project proposal, A Participatory Decision-Making Approach Towards Climate-Resilient and Inclusive Urban Development in Latin America, was one six grant recipients in a field of over 200 participants in the research call.

The aim of the project is to develop and apply a practical, innovative and participatory methodology and toolbox to support climate resilient, inclusive urban development in the rapidly growing cities of Latin America as well as strengthen the capacities of local stakeholders. The project focuses on Santa Ana in El Salvador; Dos Quebradas in Colombia; and Santo Tome in Argentina.
