CUDRR+R and its partners’ project on “Low-carbon seismic resistant building model for Istanbul” received seed-funding from the UK Royal Academy of Engineers.
CUDRR+R is currently working on this project along with the lead investigator, Robert Gordon University and the partners, University of Aberdeen in the UK and Ozyegin University and Bogazici University in Turkey.
As part of this project, CUDRR+R is currently investigating the state of planning and development law and regulations in Turkey, including the urban transformation law for seismic prone areas that will help support the development of a typology for affordable, low-carbon and seismic resistant rebuilding in Istanbul.
